Dennis Chong is a graduate of the American University's Washington College of Law. He joined Michael J. Hoare, P.C., in 2001. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Chong served as a judicial law clerk in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
Since entering private practice, Mr. Chong has exclusively represented plaintiffs in employment matters, including unlawful discrimination, sexual harassment, and disability actions. Mr. Chong has diligently pursued matters on behalf of clients under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the District of Columbia Human Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family Medical Leave Acts, as well as other state and federal laws. In addition, he has represented federal employees who have been threatened with adverse or disciplinary actions in violation of their rights.
Recent cases which Mr. Chong has handled include:
Mr. Chong serves as a board member of the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association, composed of plaintiffs' employment lawyers in the greater Washington, DC area. In 2003, he was elected Secretary of the organization. Mr. Chong is also a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA).
Mr. Chong received his bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania and his Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law at American University. He served as an articles editor on the American University Law Review.
